Artist Statement

My jewelry embodies the theme of an imaginary paradise called "ARRO." This utopia brims with breathtaking nature, symbolizing a world where everyone coexists harmoniously, acknowledging and celebrating differences.

Drawing inspiration from global embroideries, textiles, and the shapes of nature, my design process is meticulous. After repeated iterations, the final patterns materialize as embroidery at factories in Japan.

Each embroidered piece is hand-cut and stitched, with heat occasionally applied to give a three-dimensional finish to the jewelry. My firm belief is that the pivotal role of design lies in how it can bring happiness to people. ARRO's jewelry, free from precious metals or minerals, brings joy through its feather-like lightness and vibrant colors.

Artist bio:
"Born in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, I grew up amidst the richness of nature abundant in landscapes of mountains and seas.

My passion for design led me to the Kuwasawa Design Institute, a school inheriting the spirit of Germany's Bauhaus. During my student years, I co-founded the fashion brand ""IGAN and ANAN"" with art director Nagi Noda in Tokyo, launching our first collection at the once iconic Colette in Paris.

After graduation, I joined ISSEY MIYAKE Design Studio as a designer, visiting Paris for various collections. Subsequently, I ventured independently into design, teaching at my alma mater and working with clients like New Balance Japan.

My experience spans numerous pop-up shops in prominent Japanese department stores and museum shops, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. As of 2023, I have been selected for the Artistar Jewels exhibition during Milan Jewelry Week.
