Artist Statement

My work as an artist and jewelry designer is inspired by the repetitive elements of the urban landscape. I am fascinated by the patterns of elements such as chain link fences, wrought iron gates, and brick walls, and how they can change the vibe and social construct of a neighborhood.

Jewelry is a powerful form of self-expression and can act as a form of mental armor for the wearer. By incorporating the elements of protection found in these urban structures into my work, I aim to create pieces of jewelry that make the wearer feel both beautiful and tough.

My creative process begins with a photograph and a drawing, allowing me to discover patterns that are often overlooked. From there, each piece is meticulously crafted, resulting in a unique wearable work of art that embodies the essence of the urban landscape. I believe that art has the power to change our perspective and draw attention to overlooked elements in unexpected places.
