I create jewelry by combining new technologies with traditional craft skills and values. My forms are inspired by structure in both the natural and built worlds. I am also driven by the exploration of the processes and materials I use in the creation of form. I build virtual objects with CAD software that are materialized using 3D printing technologies. The objects may be cast in precious metals, dyed and/or combined with other materials to create elegant, playful and complex adornments.

Artist bio:
Maria Eife is a Philadelphia-based jewelry artist. She received a BFA in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM from Tyler School of Art and has since been building a practice rooted in both digital and traditional craft. Maria has exhibited across the United States and in Europe, including the Smithsonian Craft Show, Sieraad Art Fair and Jewelers’ Werk Galerie. She co-founded JV Collective in 2016 and the group has exhibited at Munich Jewelry Week, New York City Jewelry Week and at the Baltimore Jewelry Center. In 2017 she won the Excellence in Jewelry Prize at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show. Her work has been published in Lark Books 500 Felt Objects, American Craft Magazine, Maternal Journal and Metalsmith Magazine.
