Heliotropism is the first fully kinetic collection by Alejandro Palencia.  He incorporated wood for the first time, one of his favorite materials, to explore the duality between the organic and the mechanical. Each piece has symmetry and movement, inspired by plants seeking the sun.

Artist Statement

Palencia work is heavily based on his studies of forms in nature and how it is continuously expanding and contracting. He uses silver wire to create his dimensional designs which are reflections of himself, the culture and country of Colombia, and the movement and the sacred geometry of Mother Nature.
