Artist Statement

"nighthawks"
The moth is the central motif of my earrings - a creature that embodies ambivalence. It represents both usefulness and threat, invisibility and iridescence, delicacy and decay. In nature, it plays a vital role as a pollinator of blossoms, while in the domestic sphere it appears as a pest. Its existence between concealment and revelation, between darkness and the magical attraction of light, makes it a symbol of the dialectic of opposites.
I translate this tension into my earrings: sheet iron, a hard and resilient material, takes the fragile shape of a moth. Grey-black wings, interwoven with colored accents, reflect the contrast between stability and fragility. Suspended from the wearer's ear, this ambivalence comes to life.
