Since 2013, Erica Bello has created multi dimensional work that bridges the gap between traditional and contemporary jewelry. With an interest in the reinterpretation of classic iconography, she looks to astrology, alchemy, superstitions, and folk art for inspiration. Her designs rise out of recurring motifs and settle to form graphically defined objects that evoke feelings of nostalgia. Classically trained, Erica explores traditional metalsmithing techniques alongside modern jewelry design. The result is in her own immediately-recognizable work that falls somewhere between classic and contemporary.
